    Born 4 January 1965 in Epsom, Surrey as Julia Karin Ormond
    Julia has an older sister and three younger brothers. Her stockbroker father and laboratory technician mother divorced when she was a child. She began acting at Cranleigh public school, before going on to London's Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, having previously tried abstract art like her grandparents. She also worked as a waitress and in a shop at Heathrow airport. Divorced from Rory Edwards, her co-star in 'Young Catherine'. She has a flat in trendy Covent Gardens. Producer of the documentary 'Calling the Ghosts(1996)', also producer of Harold Pinter's 'The Dreaming Child' for her own Indican Company.
